News of the Weird is my newspaper column, which celebrated 25 years' service to the English-speaking world in January 2013.

This isn't a real blog. It is a place where I can upload my writing and have it e-mailed for free to my mailing list. (You can read it here, of course, but I'm explaining there is no Comments section, etc.) If you want to get the e-mails, read below. are welcomed, of course, and Yr Editor processes each one with his own two eyes, but keep in mind that I am a professional reader, and if a story is front-and-center on news sites, I've seen it. However, tips from specialty, or out-of-the-way (but legitimate) news sources make me all tingly. (I regret to report that I am unfortunately inconsistent in acknowledging contributions, and I hope you'll forgive me.) In any event, please, no scans, or attachments, or press releases, or jokes.
